More than 1200 men and women from the Streator land area served during W.W. II, and more than 80 of them gave their lives in defense of this nation and other nations so that the world might again be free from tyranny and war. The service and sacrifice of these men and women were honored on May 26th 1945 and again on May 27th 1996 by the Streator Veterans Plaza Committee.
