On this site stood the original meeting house where Minutemen from what is now Carlisle assembled and marched to the North Bridge in Concord on April 19, 1775. Those who marched included Sgt. James Nickles, Pvt. Nathon Munroe, Pvt. John Nickles, Pvt. Aaron Munroe, Pvt. Joseph Nickles, Pvt. Jonas Munroe, Pvt. John Nickles, Jr., Pvt. Joshiah Heald, Pbt. Ebenezer Hardy, Pvt. Jonas Robbins, Pvt. William Kemp, Pvt. Nathanial Parker, and Pvt. Asa Spaulding, Jr. Joining the march were Lt. John Heald, Sgt. David Hartwell, and Pvt. Simeon Barrett.
