Great Brook Farm State Park in Carlisle, Massachusetts, opened in 1967 as a day-use park centered on an active dairy farm, combining a working agricultural landscape with year-round recreation. Managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, it has more than 20 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, dog walking, and horseback riding. Meadow Pond offers canoeing and fishing, while the farm gives tours from May through October and an ice cream stand operates from April to October. From December to March, the Great Brook Ski Touring Center grooms trails and rents skis and snowshoes for Nordic skiing.
