Plateau Point Trail is a hiking and pack trail on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, reached as a spur from the Bright Angel Trail at Indian Garden rather than from the rim itself. From Indian Garden, it follows part of the Tonto Trail before turning north to Plateau Point. The route is especially notable for leading to a dramatic overlook deep within the canyon, above the Granite Gorge between Pipe Creek Canyon and Monument Canyon. From Plateau Point, visitors look toward the Colorado River from about 1,300 feet above it and about 3,000 feet below the South Rim, helping make this one of the best-known side trips from the Bright Angel corridor.
