Richard M. Cook

Richard M. Cook (1822-1904) was a loyal Unionist from Wyoming County who was seated as a delegate at the state constitutional convention in 1862 upon petition from Mercer County. He was a captain of the Wyoming Home Guards and frequently skirmished with local Confederate partisans. In an 1863 clash near present-day Matheny, his son-in-law, William Wills, was killed.
