Neosho State Fishing Lake, also called Lake McKinley, is a protected recreation area in Neosho County, Kansas, near Parsons. Completed in 1927, it includes a ninety-two-acre lake and one hundred twenty-four surrounding public-use acres managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. The lake honors Parsons conservationist Marshall Coleman McKinley, who, as president of the local Izaak Walton League chapter, helped secure its construction and the establishment of a fish hatchery through the Kansas State Fish, Game and Forestry Commission. The site remains closely tied to local conservation and public fishing efforts and now supports fishing, camping, picnicking, and a youth catch-and-release pond below the dam.
