The Wright Family Homestead, built circa 1862, and 81 acres of land were bequeathed to the Town of Somers by Carolyn Wright Reis in 1967 to be used for educational and recreational purposes, and the park was dedicated to the memory of Carolyn Wright and Walter Reis.
