Troy Historic Village in Troy, Michigan preserves everyday life in nineteenth-century Troy Township through a group of restored and reconstructed buildings rather than a single museum hall. The site grew around the 1927 Township Hall, planned by Morris Wattles to include local history displays and later used as City Hall before becoming a museum. Moved buildings include the 1832 Caswell House, one of only two Troy buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, and the 1837 Old Troy Church. Other structures interpret pioneer home life, blacksmithing and trade, schooling, printing, and church life, together preserving the texture of a small rural community.
