Sam Eckman Covered Bridge No. 92
Science & Tech
Sam Eckman Covered Bridge No. 92 is a historic wooden covered bridge spanning Little Fishing Creek at the line between Greenwood Township and Pine Township in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1876, it carries a road on a 65.1-foot-long Warren truss, identified by its repeating triangular framework. The bridge is part of a notable group of 28 historic covered bridges in Columbia and Montour Counties, an unusually strong concentration in Pennsylvania. Its preservation as a 19th-century road bridge brought national recognition when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
