Bennett Peak is a 13,209-foot summit in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, part of the broader Rocky Mountain system. Located in Rio Grande National Forest about 14.2 miles south-southwest of Del Norte, it is the highest point in Rio Grande County. The mountain has also been known historically as Bennett Mountain. Its importance is chiefly geographic, as one of Colorado’s thirteeners, rising above 13,000 feet, and as the county high point in a rugged, heavily forested mountain landscape.
