This 11-acre parcel in the heart of Teaticket Village was purchased by The 300 Committee Land Trust in 2011 for permanent protection as an open-space community park along the heavily developed Teaticket Highway. The land had been the site of Joe's Driving Range, a local attraction and family business for more than 60 years after the Vieira family developed the property in 1950 during a period of rapid commercialization that followed the decline of Teaticket's long tradition of agriculture and grazing since the late 17th century. After the sale, the site was transformed through the removal of buildings, driveway, and parking area, followed by grading, soil enhancement, the planting of 68 tree saplings and two acres of grass, and the installation of accessible paths and a reconfigured parking area by the end of 2013. Work completed in 2014 expanded the pathways, restored the wetland, and added a boardwalk and observation platform to improve access while protecting wetland habitat, with restoration of the natural wetland and sandplain grassland enhancing wildlife value and visitor enjoyment. Interpretive signage and an outdoor classroom near Teaticket Elementary School completed the final phase in 2018, and committed stewardship volunteers continue to care for the park through regular maintenance and cleanup.
