Boucher Trail is a primitive route on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park that begins only after a long approach on the Hermit and Dripping Springs trails. It traverses rugged terrain with frequent abrupt climbs and descents, then drops steeply toward Travertine Canyon on one of the trail’s hardest sections before continuing through the canyon to the Tonto Trail, Boucher Creek, and the Colorado River. Limited maintenance, sparse cairns, scarce water, and overgrown or faint stretches make it difficult to follow. The trail is named for Louis Boucher, a prospector and guide whose solitary life near Boucher Creek helped shape local lore.
