The Koch Family Cemetery was established in 1985 by Irene R. Koch after the death of her husband, George W. Koch, to provide a burial site for all descendants of George and Irene. Irene deeded a portion of adjacent land to Highland Cemetery with the understanding that perpetual care would be provided for the Koch family plot. After Irene's death, the cemetery purchased additional land, and the addition was named for George and Irene Koch. The Koch family children agreed to keep the plot natural, with the head stones being the same nature as in the Koch Monument, and the plot is governed by the bylaws, rules, and regulations of Highland Cemetery.
