Menagerie Wilderness is a protected area in Oregon’s central Cascade Range within the Willamette National Forest, managed by the U.S. Forest Service. It is named for a cluster of rock pinnacles with fanciful individual names, including the well-known Rooster Rock as well as Hen Rock, Turkey Monster, and Chicken Rock. Recreation centers on hiking and rock climbing, with limited camping and wildlife watching. Only a few established trails enter the area, mainly to Rooster Rock, while the other formations usually require steep off-trail travel across rugged ground. Dense second-growth forest and abrupt stone spires give the area a distinctive character within the Cascades.
