Aberdeen Proving Ground is a military reservation of 55,000 acres of land and water where the Ordnance Department, U. S. Army operates the Army Proving Ground for Arms, Ammunition and Automotive Equipment, the Ballistic Research Laboratory, and the Ordnance School. It was established in 1917.
