Rawley Point Light, in Point Beach State Forest near Two Rivers, Wisconsin, is the tallest lighthouse on the Wisconsin shore at 111 feet and remains an active aid to navigation on Lake Michigan. The point was named for trader Peter Rowley, who established a post here in 1835. After earlier lights proved inadequate, a brick station entered service in 1874, but structural weakness led to its replacement in 1894 with a modified skeletal tower from Chicago Harbor Light, using the earlier Fresnel lens. The station later gained fog signals, electrification, automation, and other upgrades, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
