During the Second World War, from 1941 to 1945, the Church of St. John the Baptist, through the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary Rosary Society, Holy Name Society, and Parish Council of Catholic Women, offered lasting praise for the faith and patriotism of its beloved sons and daughters, humble thanks for divine protection, and fervent hope for justice and peace, while honoring the dead John Ratchek, Elmer Mihalik, John Molick, John Amrich, and John Hancock and recognizing a large roll of veterans from the parish community.
