Workers received the standard rate of a dollar a day, or $26.00 for the month, and worked from dawn until dark, sometimes longer if there was an early moon. Tools were kept in the office when they were not in use, including a seven foot long saw laid on a workbench that took up most of the room, while other tools leaned against the walls. A photograph shows a man sharpening a saw, probably in the camp office, although the exact location of the office for this camp is not known.
