Tettegouche State Park on Minnesota’s North Shore covers 9,346 acres from Lake Superior inland, encompassing rugged cliffs, forests, inland lakes, the Baptism River, four waterfalls, and prominent headlands such as Shovel Point and Palisade Head. Its name comes from the Tettegouche Club, whose 1910 purchase helped preserve the land until state acquisition in 1979, when acreage including historic Tettegouche Camp was added to and renamed from Baptism River State Park. Known for High Falls, the highest waterfall entirely within Minnesota, the park also offers extensive hiking and ski trails, rock climbing, motorized trail access, diverse wildlife, and varied year-round camping and visitor facilities.
