Mount Febbas
Nature
Mount Febbas is a 13,474-foot summit in Wyoming’s Wind River Range, rising at the western end of Horse Ridge, a high plateau that extends more than 10 miles northeast and stays above 10,000 feet for much of its length. It stands within one of the state’s most rugged mountain regions, marked by long alpine ridges and high terrain. Conditions here can be severe, with hazards including bears, bugs, wildfires, snow, and sharp nighttime cold. Elsewhere in the range, falls on steep class 4 and 5 terrain and rockfall have caused accidental deaths and injuries, highlighting the seriousness of travel in this remote alpine environment.
