Hall County was formed from Young and Bexar Territories, created and organized on August 21, 1876, and June 23, 1890, and was named in honor of Warren D.C. Hall, 1788–1867, a member of the San Felipe Convention in 1832 and second in command of the Texans at Anahuac in 1832; Memphis is the county seat.
