The Keeper's House, designed by Carl W. Leick, was built in 1905-1906 along with the lighthouse and other light station buildings. Peter N. Christiansen, Mukilteo's first lighthouse keeper, lived here with his family until 1925. Christiansen had been given a certificate of merit for rescuing men from a barge and tug caught in a severe storm while he was assistant keeper at the Turn Point Lighthouse. It is thought that his appointment as Mukilteo keeper was "a reward for his faithful services." When Keeper Christiansen died on October 5, 1925, his wife took over his duties until E. A. Brooks was appointed as the second Mukilteo Lighthouse keeper.
