Dedicated in 2007, the Cassville Veterans Memorial honors men and women of the Cassville area who served the United States in war and peace. It recognizes service across many branches, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the U.S. American Legion, the Department of the Navy, the U.S.M.C., the Department of the Air Force, the Department of the Army, the U.S.A., and the United States Coast Guard, and it records local veterans from conflicts and periods including the 1790 Coast Guard, the War of 1812, the Black Hawk War at Fort Cass in 1832, the Civil War, the Mexican conflict, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War, National Guard service, and service in the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Kosovo, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Libya, with stars marking those killed in action.
