The U.S.S. Decatur (DD-936), a Forrest Sherman-class ship, was commissioned in 1956, decommissioned in 1965, recommissioned in 1967, and decommissioned again in 1983 after receiving 6 Battle Stars for Vietnam service. Its anchor was obtained through the efforts of the Class of 1967, Scott Wimbrow Contractors, Berlin/OC Jaycees, and other alumni.
