Mr. Judson and Mr. Brown
History
8
These twin Deodar Cedar trees mark the intersection designated as the town center by the founders, Edward Judson and Frank Brown, when they laid out the town plan in 1881. Over the years, in honor of their vision for the city of Redlands, the trees came to be known as "Mr. Judson" and "Mr. Brown." Edward Judson later recalled, "The place began to grow and the first thing we knew we had a town on our hands."
