In Redlands, California, the Historical Glass Museum preserves the history and craft of American glassmaking through about 6,000 pieces of glassware, the largest collection of American-made glass west of the Rocky Mountains. Growing from the collection assembled by Dixie and Doc Huckabee, it found a home when the Historical Glass Museum Foundation bought a 1903 Edwardian house built by Jerome Seymour, and it opened to the public in 1985. Its holdings span more than a century, from an 1820 bottle to twentieth-century wares, including Victorian Art Glass, Early American Pattern Glass, Depression Glass, and American Elegant Glass, along with blown, molded, machine-made, and colored glass.
