Civilian Conservation Corps
History
From 1933 to 1942, young men of the Civilian Conservation Corps lived and worked at Allegany State Park in Salamanca, New York, in Camp SP-50 at Red House with Company 1250, Camp SP-51 at Red House with Company 249, and Camp SP-19 at Red House with Company 2218. Their legacy endures in the many park roads, buildings, and other facilities they constructed 50 years earlier that were still serving the public in 1990.
