Rairden Bridge, near Manderson, Wyoming, spans the Big Horn River and stands as an important example of a Pennsylvania through truss steel bridge built for a major river crossing. Constructed in 1916 by the Monarch Engineering Company at a cost of $30,986, it ranked among the most expensive bridges commissioned by a Wyoming county government. At 250 feet, it was the longest bridge in Big Horn County’s road system and remains the longest surviving county bridge in Wyoming. Replaced and abandoned in 1979, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 as part of recognition for bridges significant to Wyoming’s construction history.
