The Haverhill–Bath Covered Bridge crosses the Ammonoosuc River between Woodsville in Haverhill and Bath in northern New Hampshire. Built in 1829 with support from both towns, it is widely regarded as the state’s oldest covered bridge and an important survivor from New Hampshire’s early river crossings. Moses Abbott and Leonard Walker carried out the construction after Airel Miner stepped down from supervising the work. The bridge is a Town lattice truss with two spans, stone and concrete abutments, and a stone pier. After enduring repeated floods and multiple renovations, it was restored in 2004 and now serves pedestrians.
