Caesars Head State Park is part of the 11,000-acre Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where diverse plant and animal communities are adapted to life along the escarpment. The wilderness area provides more than 55 miles of hiking trails, from easy to very strenuous, as well as trailside campsites, and picnicking in the cool mountain forest. The South Carolina State Park Service seeks to encourage people to discover the state's parks through resource-based recreational and educational opportunities that emphasize conservation, protection, and interpretation of natural and cultural resources. Caesars Head State Park seeks to protect and preserve the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area by providing low-impact recreational, educational, and inspirational opportunities sustained through stewardship of scenic vistas, watersheds, forests, natural systems, and wilderness backcountry of South Carolina's Blue Ridge Escarpment. As part of the South Carolina State Park Service's Project Green program, trash cans have been removed to improve park aesthetics, reduce trash, and encourage recycling, and visitors are required to take their trash out with them.
