At the camp of Co. 788 of the Civilian Conservation Corps, the water tower supplied drinking water, and rumor held that whoever tested and chlorinated the tower's water received more than his share of ribbing from the men. The only recorded discontent concerned the sulfur taste from the shallow drinking wells.
