Bear Wallow Wilderness is an 11,080-acre protected wilderness area in eastern Arizona within the Apache National Forest, managed by the U.S. Forest Service as part of the federal wilderness system. It is notably linked to the Wallow Fire of June 2011, which began there and heavily damaged the area. Bear Wallow Creek flows through the wilderness and supports habitat for the Apache trout, a threatened fish species found only in the region. The wilderness is significant both for its protected status and for its connection to a major wildfire and sensitive native habitat.
