Doherty Slide, or Doherty Rim, is a volcanic ridge in southeastern Oregon’s rural Lake County, just north of the Nevada border at the eastern end of Guano Valley, about 20 miles east of Adel. Formed by lava extrusions and later shaped by erosion, it became the dissected rim visible today. Its name likely comes from the heavy accumulation of eroded material along its base, especially on the western side, where the ridge rises about 1,000 feet above the valley floor. On the eastern side, the land levels into a broad plateau, and Oregon Route 140 ascends the face of the rim.
