Moose Falls is a small plunge waterfall on Crawfish Creek in southern Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, dropping about 30 feet near the park’s South Entrance. Named in 1885 by members of the Arnold Hague Geologic Survey for the many moose in Yellowstone’s southern reaches, it has long been among the more accessible waterfalls in this part of the park because of its location near the road and its short, easy trail. The surrounding area has a subarctic climate, as reflected in records from the nearby Snake River Station.
