Forellen Peak is a 9,777-foot mountain in the northern Teton Range of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. Named from the German word Forelle, meaning trout, it preserves a small linguistic trace in a landscape better known for granite summits and glacial valleys. The mountain rises more than 2,500 feet above Owl Creek and, while less dramatic than the better-known Tetons farther south, remains prominent in its immediate surroundings. Its northern summit route is nontechnical but demanding, requiring many miles of off-trail travel. Reached most often by the Berry Creek trail, it is valued today for its remoteness and setting in a less-traveled part of the range.
