Built in 1951 in Manchester, New Hampshire, the Zimmerman House is one of only two houses Frank Lloyd Wright designed in the state and among the few of his works in the northeastern United States. Created in his Usonian style, the compact single-story home centers on a large L-shaped chimney and uses a four-foot module, red glazed brick, and cypress throughout. Wright controlled nearly every aspect of the design, from the approach and garden plantings to furniture and small interior details. Preserved by the Zimmermans and donated to the Currier Museum of Art in 1988, it is now maintained as a house museum.
