The County Fire House in Concord was built in 1938-39 and erected in 1939 as the headquarters station of the Mt. Diablo Fire District. Its construction was overseen by the Board of Fire Commissioners, with R.D. Bollman as chairman, Frank Rose, E.W. Glazier, J.F. DeRosa, and A.W. Martin serving as commissioners, Sarah Hill as secretary, and A.W. Vagus as fire chief. E.W. Cannon was the architect and J.J. Hansen the contractor. The firefighters of Station 6, past and present, were honored for their dedicated service to the citizens of Concord.
