Mount Parnassus is a 13,580-foot summit in Colorado’s Front Range, on the east side of the Continental Divide in Arapaho National Forest near Silver Plume. One of the more accessible high peaks in the area, it lies close to Interstate 70 and is commonly climbed by a route from Herman Gulch Trailhead along Watrous Gulch. The hike is about 7 miles round trip with roughly 3,300 feet of elevation gain, making it a substantial but convenient objective from Denver. Also known as Scout Peak, the mountain has borne the name Mount Parnassus since 1933 and is valued for its alpine setting among nearby thirteeners.
