Conejo Valley Botanic Garden is a 33-acre public botanical garden in Thousand Oaks, California, spread across a hillside overlooking the Conejo Valley. Established on land leased in 1973 and first developed in 1976, it operates without public-agency funding and has been shaped largely by donations and community effort. Its 15 specialty gardens, trails, overlooks, and habitat areas showcase plants suited to the local climate, from native California species to Mediterranean, Australian, desert, herb, and salvia collections. The garden also supports wildlife through butterfly and bird habitats, and includes study collections, a rare fruit orchard, a nature trail, and family-oriented spaces for exploration.
