Schlicher Covered Bridge spans Jordan Creek in North Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, and began in 1882 as a 108-foot covered road bridge built in the Burr Truss style with vertical plank siding and a gable roof. Recognized for its historic importance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. After the bridge closed to traffic in 2009, it was rebuilt as a modern replica and completed in 2014. The replacement is longer and wider than the original, cost $1.8 million, and preserved about 10 percent of the earlier bridge's materials.
