Biloxi Wildlife Management Area is a 35,644-acre protected marsh in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, about 40 miles east of New Orleans, on the east shore of Lake Borgne in a brackish-to-saline landscape reached only by boat. Privately owned by Biloxi Marsh Lands Corporation and leased in part to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries since as early as 1957, it is managed as a wildlife area while the company keeps mineral and other business rights. The marsh is part of Louisiana’s vulnerable coastal zone, important for reducing storm surge and sheltering small mammals, and the surrounding Biloxi Marsh has also seen shoreline restoration work completed in 2023.
