The Alhambra stood on this site after Buffalo businessmen built it in 1925, and during the 1940's it was a popular destination for dining, dancing, and entertainment, with live dance bands performing as part of the local circuit. After World War II, as dance clubs declined in popularity, the building was adapted to other uses, including a night club, summer theater, and roller skating rink, until a fire destroyed it on April 14, 1954. Only part of the foundation walls remain visible.
