Rose Peak is a mountain in California’s Diablo Range that is officially recognized as the highest point in Alameda County. Its claim to that distinction is not entirely settled, however, because some sources instead identify nearby Discovery Peak as the county’s true high point. As a result, Rose Peak’s significance today lies in both its official standing and the small local dispute over which summit is actually highest.
