During World War II from 1941 to 1945, the men and women of Woodbury rendered service in the armed forces and related roles. The community honored a long roll of individuals, including chaplains, nurses, a member of the WAC, a member of the WAVE, a physician, and a Marine, and identified some of them as killed in action.
