Shutdown Mountain in Somerset County, Maine, lies within the Kennebec River watershed and has two peaks, Shutdown Peak and Bulldog Peak. Bulldog Peak rises to 2,260 feet and is sometimes called Bulldog Mountain. The mountain’s drainage spreads across several slopes, with the north and south sides flowing into Enchanted Stream, the west side into Stony Brook, and the east side into Enchanted Pond before rejoining Enchanted Stream; all of these waters ultimately reach the Dead River. The Enchanted Lookout trail climbs to Bulldog Peak from Bulldog Camps, a traditional Maine sporting camp on Enchanted Pond’s north shore.
