Deeds, silent symbols more potent than words, proclaimed his soldier worth." It honors those who died during Operation Enduring Freedom from August 2003 to May 2004: SSG Anthony S. Lagman at Maim Do, Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, on 18 March 2004, and SGT Michael J. Esposito, Jr. at Maim Do, Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, on 18 March 2004. It also honors those who died during Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2005 to July 2006: SSG Dwayne P.R. Lewis at Al Farashiya, Baghdad, Iraq, on 27 February 2006; 1LT Robert A. Seidel at Beni Zaed, Anbar Province, Iraq, on 18 May 2006; SGT Lonnie C. Allen, Jr. at Beni Zaed, Anbar Province, Iraq, on 18 May 2006; and PFC Nicholas R. Cournoyer at Beni Zaed, Anbar Province, Iraq, on 18 May 2006. It further honors those who died during Operation Iraqi Freedom from September 2007 to October 2008: PFC Nathan Z. Thacker at Kirkuk City, Iraq, on 12 October 2007; SGT Timothy R. VanOrman at Qalayah, Diyala Province, Iraq, on 5 February 2008; PFC Jack T. Sweet at Rashaad Valley, Kirkuk Province, Iraq, on 8 February 2008; SSG Tyler E. Pickett at Al Noor Complex, Kirkuk Province, Iraq, on 8 June 2008; and SPC Justin T. Antisdel on 22 March 2009. It also honors SSG Michael H. Ollis, who died at Ghazni, Afghanistan, on 28 August 2013 during Operation Enduring Freedom from January 2013 to October 2013.
