The Chesterfield Centralized School opened on October 5, 1916, as the second centralized school in Fulton County. Its first graduation was held in 1920. In 1936, part of the North Dover School District was added, creating the Chesterfield Dover District, and a gym, restrooms, and showers were added east of the original school. Another addition was completed in 1953 with a large band room, agriculture classrooms, and a shop for vocational and industrial arts. The final graduation was held in 1965, with 28 students graduating. The Evergreen School District was formed on July 8, 1964. The building continued in use as an elementary and middle school through 1982 and was demolished in 2023.
