Huey Pierce Long, who lived from 1852 to 1932, and his wife, Caledonia Tison Long, who lived from 1860 to 1913, had their home near the center of this site. Their children were Charlotte Long Davis, Julius Tison Long, George Shannon Long, Helen Kelly Long, who died young, Olive Long Cooper, Clara Long Knott, Huey Pierce Long, Earl Kemp Long, Caledonia Long Mackallor, and Lucille Long Hunt.
