The Alvin Miller House in Charles City, Iowa, is a single-story Usonian home on the Cedar River designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and regarded as the smallest of his Iowa Usonian houses. Designed in the same year as the Grant House but not constructed until 1951–1952 after a five-year building period, it has a sturdier, less radical character than the Walter and Grant houses. Its low horizontal design uses a two-level flat roof and clerestory windows. The house also appeared in Wright’s book The Natural House, and its later history was shaped by severe damage in the flood of 2008 and subsequent restoration efforts.
