Stonemason T.T. Perry arrived in Santa Anna about 1890 and, using rock from the twin peaks above the town, helped shape the town’s history in stone. He fashioned many of Santa Anna’s landmark buildings, where he worked and was buried after his death in 1943. All of these stones except the Santana Stone were found at the home of one of Perry’s daughters. That home was later owned by the Richard Bass family, which donated the stones for all to enjoy.
